In a shocking retaliation to Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s assertion that many MLAs were in touch with him and he would topple the TDP government at an appropriate time, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu seems to have expedited his mission of implementation of ‘operation akarsh’ by attracting at least four MLAs from Kurnool.
Nandyala YSRC MLA Bhuma Nagireddy is expected addressing media at Nandyal at four PM after a meeting with followers on his future course of action . There is strong speculation that he is going to announce his decision to quit the TDP along with his daughter Akhila Priya, MLA from Allagadda. TDP senior leader, former district president Somisetty Venkateswarlu told ‘telugu360.com’ from Kurnool that as many as 6 MLAs were in touch the TDP. Today at least two more MLAs are likely to announce their decision along with Bhuma and his daughter, he claimed. But refused to give the names of other MLAs. Our sources in the TDP in Hyderabad informed that Nandikotkur YSRCP MLA Yekkaladeve Isaiah and Alur MLA Gummanuri Jayaramulu also are in queue to join the ruling party. If sources are to be believed even Kodumuru MLA Mani Gandhi also is in hit list of Chandrababu Naidu.
Bhuma Nagireddy comes from TDP background, he was TDP MP. His father in law SV Nagireddy was in Naidu’s agriculture minister in 2006.His wife Shobha Nagireddy used to get top priority in the party. She was appointed RTC chairperson-first woman to get the coveted post. They, however, saw no future in TDP when Rajasekhar Reddy was looming large on state horizon. They first joined PRP and later and came under the sway of YS Jagan. EVen his brother-in-law Mohan Reddy was given MLC nomination and later he won as Kurnool Assemblh seat from YSRC. That Bhuma Nagireddy and Akhila Priya chose to switch over to TDP despite the importance given by Jagan for them, there must be must be huge compensation from chief minister. Now Bhuma enjoys cabinet rank as the PAC chairman and commensurate honor means a cabinet berth. His father in law may also get accommodated in somewhere in the power structure. Let us wait for the 4 PM press conference.
