Telugu Desam leaders from Kurnool district have reportedly authorized chief minister Chandrababu Naidu to take a decision whatever he thinks fit on the admission of Nandyala YSRCP MLA Bhuma Nagireddy into TDP.
Naidu today held a meeting with district TDP leaders amid the speculation of mass defection from YSRCP to the ruling party. Besides deputy chief minister KE Krishna Murthy and defeated party candidate from Nandyala Shilpa Mohan Reddy, district TDP president Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy etc participated in the meeting. Naidu is said to have called the meeting to allay fears of Shilpa brothers who are from Nandyala and deputy chief minister KE over the possible rise of second power centre in the district.
So far, KE Krishnamurthy is the only minister from Kurnool district. Bhuma’s entry into cabinet is expected to cause some misgivings in KE. So, the CM summoned these leaders to brief them about the efforts he was putting in to strengthen the party. The meeting took place nearly for two hours. CM has reportedly told them that party needs to be further strengthened for smooth implementation of various projects. Jagan, with his present strength has become stumbling block for the development of the state. His opposition to Bauxite, land acquisition plans etc has become a cause of worry for the government. So, to overcome this, the CM, reportedly told them, party needs to be strengthened and there was need to admit all those who want to join the party.
Referring to Bhuma Nagireddy, the CM asked the Kurnool leaders to leave the matter to him. He is said to have assured them that he would ensure that his decisions would not harm their interests in the districts.
