Deputy chief minister and revenue minister KE Krishnamurthy said the temporary capital would be built in four months. Addressing the collectors conference, sixth in the past 22 months, at Vijayawada, he said state was thinking of appointing two MRO per each mandal. Now mandal is administered by one Mandal Revenue Officer. He said population of the mandal would be taken as criteria for the appointment of the second MRO. He also revealed that the plan to drought-proofing of Andhra Pradesh had begun in right earnest. Stating the digging of farm ponds in the fields that began with Kurnool would be extended to all districts in the coming year.
Finance and Legislative affairs minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said next budget session would begin from March 5 and the general budget would be presented to the assembly on March 10. Expressing satisfaction at the achievement of 15 per cent growth rate in 15 months, the finance minister said the target for the year 2016-17 was 15 pc. Talking about the budget he said the coming budget would expenditure heavy exercise. He described this a positive trend. He called up all in the government hat everyone should work like chief minister Naidu. ” It is not enough if the CM alone works hard, everyone should work in order to achieve the progress,” Yanamala said.
