YSR Congress expressed shock at Chandrababu Naidu‘s open attempt to whip up regional passions . The party said the CM had been speaking ill of Rayalaseema , a backward and much neglected region for quite some time. The party felt that it doesn’t suit the high office he holds.
‘Chandrababu Naidu is telling people of Guntur and Vijayawada that the industries will go to Rayalaseema if the house rents are higher in the central coastal districts. This comparison is highly objectionable,’ party MLA G Srikanth Reddy told reporters here on Monday.
He said Naidu’s intention was very clear and he doesn’t want industries go to the region. The CM had used the Rayalaseema a deterrent to convince people of these two cities to the cut the rents of houses.
” The CM has hurt the sentiments of the people of that region deeply,” Reddy said.
“On one side he keeps on playing the old tune that the state had been subjected to injustice during partition leaving treasury bankrupt. But he doesn’t want to shun his extravagant spending. When people of capital region increased the rents, he chides them that they were greedy,” he said.
Reddy ridiculed the CM for taking credit for the rise in ground water table in Rayalaseema hiding that fact that the cyclonic storm that triggered heavy rains was responsible for the recharge of water table.
Naidu proudly announced in today’s collectors’ conference at Vijayawada that the ground water recharge that occurred across Rayalaseema after the recent incessant cyclonic heavy rains as the success of TDP policies, he said.
“All tall claims of Naidu are empty like the ground water recharge,” he said.
