YSR Congress today made same demand, which the TDP has been asking the TRS for more than one year, that chief minister Chandrababu Naidu should seek fresh mandate from for all YSRC MLAs, whom he admitted into the ruling party last night.
This has been the Telugu Desam party’s demand to TRS in Telangana ever since party’s Hyderabad MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav switched over to TRS and became minister in KCR cabinet in December 2014.
The T-TDP has been fighting relentlessly to get Srinivasa Yadav disqualified from the Assembly as per the provisions of Anti-defection law. The demand was raised even in the recent GHMC elections.
Now YSRC has hurled the same demand at chief minister Chandrababu Naidu today.
YSRC deputy leader in Assembly Jyotula Nehru, MLAs K Srinivasulu, Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and Alla Ramakrishna Reddy asked their former colleagues, who crossed over to TDP to resign from the Assembly and seek fresh mandate from the people of their constituencies for their decision. ‘You were all elected opposing the TDP. People rejected the TDP in your constituencies favored you. Since you crossed-over to the party rejected by the people, it is morally binding upon you to seek the fresh mandate from the people to remain in Assembly,” they said.
They alleged that the four MLAs ( Akhila Priya, Bhuma Nagireddy, Jaleel Khan and Adinarayana Reddy ) were lured by huge financial packages. Some MLA were intimidated by the false police cases, they added.
The YSRCP MLAs said Chandrababu Naidu who lost face in Telangana wants to derive satisfaction from engineering defections in Andhra Pradesh.
Taking objection to the Chandrababu Naidu’s politics of defection, the four YSRC leaders reminded the AP CM how he had raised a hue and cry when Telangana TDP MLAs switched over to TRS, and demanded that the AP CM should take lead in seeking the fresh mandate for the defector MLAs.
“Let people give their verdict on Naidu politics of defection and buying of MLAs,” they said.
