The 9th IPL season is all set to begin this April and while millions of fans are waiting eagerly for it, Tollywood is not too happy.

Ever since IPL was launched, it has been having a huge impact on film collections in the Telugu speaking states. The impact is so strong that many big budget films try to avoid the season altogether.

The situation is the same this year and a host of big Tollywood films are hoping to avoid the IPL effect by carefully timing their releases. The season will kick off on 11th April 2016 and the final is scheduled for May 27th.

Tollywood exhibitors and distributors are hoping to scape through the season by counting on a host of small and medium budget releases that usually come out during this time.
