Chief Chandrababu Naidu today called upon the party leaders not to lose heart over the influx of YSRC MLAs into Telugu Desam party.
Addressing the party’s extended meeting at Vijayawada, he sought to allay the fears of party leaders over the defections. Naidu reassured them that there would be no dearth of opportunities for the hardworking leaders in the party.
Naidu devoted major portion of the speech to justify the defections and to convince local leaders that party gets strength from the right mixture of old and new leaders.
” Legislative Council seats are there for you. Rajya Sabha nomination is another opportunity. The number of seats in the Assembly are expected to go up from present 175 to 225. Based on the your capabilities and capacities, I will reward you with positions. You have fought for the party. You have sacrificed for the state. It is my responsibility to encourage you. Work hard. The 2019 election should be one-sided in favor of Telugu Desam party,” the TDP national president said.
He called upon the MLAs to adopt the Kuppam model to get reelected with thumping majority in every election.
” Having seen the change in their lives and development in the constituency, people of Kuppam have been electing me with huge margin. You should work in you constituencies with Kuppam spirit,” Naidu told the gathering of MLAs, MLCs, MPs , Mayors and other people’s representatives from grass root level bodies.
Extolling the party workers not to stray from the path laid out by NT Ramarao, chief minister asked the party leaders to learn to be accommodative in view of the MLAs coming from other parties.
” State needs a stable government for the development. You should be able to join hands with the MLAs who are coming to work for the development of the state above politics. Some people left our party before 2014 elections. Some are joining the party after the elections. We were successful because of the right combination of old and new forces in our party. Work to strengthen the party, and strengthen yourself,” Naidu asked the leaders.
