Mahabub Nagar TRS MP Jitender Reddy advised all India state embroiled in water disputes to take a leaf out of Telagana state. chief minister KCR, he said , shown a way tall states to resolve the long pending interstate water disputes. Stating that the MoU being signed by Telangana and Maharashtra chief ministers on March 8 is going to herald a new chapter in the resolution of interstate disputes amicably.
Talking to media in New Delhi, Jitender Reddy said how chief minister KCR had prevailed upon his Maharashtra counterpart for an amicable sharing of waters of Godavari and its tributaries in the interest of the people of two states, especially the farmers.
When many states were fighting , the KCR and Maharashtra CM Fadnavis will signing the MoU for sharing of rivers waters.
” There are no two neighboring states which do not have interstate water disputes. Andhra-Karnataka, Andhra-Odidsha, Andhra-Chattishgarh, Tamil Nadu-Karnataka, Tamil Nadu-Kerala, Punjab-Haryna, Goa-Karnataka etc are all locked in running feuds for water.
They should study the Maha-Telangana model of resolving the water disputes in the interest of the people and the country. Interstate water disputes are costly affairs and are a drain on resources. These states should emulate KCR method of resolving the disputes,” Jitender Reddy said.
