YSR Congress alleged that chief minister Chandrababu Naidu breached the oath of secrecy he took while assuming office as the chief minister by revealing crucial and confidential information to the party leaders and cabinet ministers, who took advantage of it and bought large parcels of land in capital region in a big way.
The party said the CM had compromised with the sacred constitutional oath and he should volunteer for a judicial inquiry to prove his innocence.
‘While taking oath the Chief Minister and the ministers sworn that they would not directly or indirectly communicate or reveal to any person or persons any matter which shall be brought to their consideration or known to them as minister…but what happened in the capital region was that the minister, who headed the committee to identify the land for the capital, along with others have purchased huge extent of land in the peripheries and majority of the area is assigned land,’ party senior leader Botsa Satyanrayana said Friday.
He demanded that all the assigned lands purchased in the surrounding areas of the proposed capital should go back to the rightful owners and criminal action should be initiated on those who have bought the lands.
“Chief Minister telling that that the rightful owners would get the compensation is not the question. How could people from far away regions come to the capital region and bought the lands? There should be a thorough probe into how they got to know that the capital would be located there,” Botsa said.
Recalling how the then chief minister YSR had volunteered for an inquiry when there was an allegation against him in Outer Righ Road deals, Botsa said, the TDP Government should also follow the tradition and volunteer for a judicial probe into the buying of land in large extent through benamis and pushing the dalits and adivasis outside the development orbit.
“The large scale buying of lands by Municipal minister Narayana, who headed the committee to identify the land for proposed capital along with other TDP leaders, in the name of their kin, associates and employees, was possible only when he had prior knowledge of the capital location,” he said.
This is a clear case of breach of oath on the part of Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues and merits a judicial inquiry, he said.
