This Sunday began with attacks on opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy by the TDP leaders. While Municipal minister P Narayana launched first at 8 am, welfare minister Ravela Kishore Babu at 10.30 am. Next major strike is expected from chief minister Chandrababu Naidu himself.
Ravela Kishore Babu stoutly defended his son Ravela Susheel, who is facing Nirbhaya case in Hyderabad for trying to stalk a Muslim woman in Hyderabad. Today Susheel surrendered before city police. Minister Ravela immediately summoned a press conference to defend his son’s innocence.
He said he son had fallen victim to the conspiratorial politics of opposition leader and YSRC President YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Ravela spewed venom on Jagan in the backdrop of continued running of the leaked CCTV footage in Sakshi new channel which showed Susheel following a burqa clad woman on Road No 13 of Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
It exposed clearly that Susheel, in his Fortuner car, stalked the woman. Enraged at the campaign by Sakshi channel, owned by Jaganmohan Reddy, Ravela said Jagan instigated the police to file second FIR implicating his son in the woman harassment case. ” Unable to face me politically, Jagan has stooped down to destroying the life of a student, who is innocent,” he said. Jagan was worried because dalits vote bank was migrating to Telugu Desam party following the implementation of various welfare measures under SC and ST subplan.
” You can question my performance as a minister and implementation of the social welfare measures taken up from dalits. But, you (Jagan) have no courage. So, you have chosen to take revenge on me by attacking my son, who is innocent,” he said.
Jagan was used to jail, he was in jail for more than a year and he would be sent to jail any time, he said adding that he should not think of targeting the life of a boy in lieu of mine.
” The first FIR filed on March 3 by the Banjara Hills police didn’t have my son’s name. It appeared in the second FIR filed on March 4. It clearly shows that the second FIR had been filed after Jaganmohan Reddy’s influence,” Ravela alleged.
Meanwhile, Ravela Susheel, who is in police custody also denied having committed any crime. ” I am studying MBA. I have mother and sister. I have respect for women. It’s all conspiracy,” he said.
