Telanana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao told the Assembly that two and half lakh Telangana settlers of Surat, a town in Gujarat, were ready to come back to their home state. ” They might have gone in search livelihood. But, having acquired new skills, all these sons and daughters of Telangana are ready to come back home if the state is in a position to make use of their skills,” he said.
” They came to my house. I had food with them. They are ready to come back,” he said replying to the debate on the motion of thanks to the governor’s address on Sunday. The CM revealed that a massive textile park was coming up in Warangal which was going to absorb all these skilled workers of Surat. The proposed textile park would be a combination of Sholapur, Surat and and Tirupur, he said.
“Warangal is a big railway junction. Products produced in the textile park can be transported to anywhere in India. The city is the ideal place for the textile park. And it will become a reality soon,” he said.
In his three-hour long reply, the CM tore into the opposition especially the Congress, which tried to interrupt his torrent of critical remarks, but in vain.
The CM wondered as to how Telangana Congress leaders had become party to the Conspiracy of chief ministers of united Andhra Pradesh.
When the then chief minister N Kirankumar Reddy had allotted Rs 8000 crore to his home district Chittoor in the name drinking water, no T-Congress member made noise, including Congress MLA Uttamkumar Reddy, who was a minister in Kiran’s cabinet.
KCR sought excoriate Vanaparti MLA G Chinna Reddy for making what he said a wrong suggestion on drawing water to Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project.
” Chinna Reddy says the 2 TMC water meant for water from Jurala as against the proposed Srisailam dam. It’s a foolish suggestion. This has come from a peson who is the son of Palamur. How could a son of Palamur make a such disastrous suggestion. The capicity of Jurala was just 12 TMC. If we start drawing 2 TMC water from Jurala, the project would become empty in no time. What would happen to Palamuru district” the CM questioned and suggested Chinna Reddy not think of hurting the interests of his own district for the sake of politics.
Similarly, the CM slammed Congress MLA from Jagityal T Jeevan Reddy for finding fault with the Telangana-Maharashtra agreement on sharing of Godavari waters.
” Jeevan Reddy says Telangana interests were sold out. Where did we sell out. What was the wrong committed in the agreement. What was signed was only an in-principle agreement,” he said.
At this time, Congress member Uttam tried to interrupt but CM did not yield.
Uttam said if what was signed was only an in-principle agreement, why did the party choose to celebrate this as a victory festival.
A Congress MP (Gutha Sukhender Reddy) from Telangana wrote a letter to Hudco suggesting them not to extend any loan to Mission Bhagiratha.
“You dare question the allocation of Rs 35,000 crore to Bhagiratha mission as too big an amount. Then why did you were silent when Kirankumar Reddy allotted Rs 8000 crore to only one district, Chittoor,” he asked.
Finally, the CM warned that people gave us a mandate recently not to take you into account. “But we want to take you into confidence respecting your status as opposition. Stop creating hurdles for the programs,” he warned.
