Andhra Pradesh government is gearing up to celebrate the Sri Sitarama Kalyanamahotsavam at Votimitta in an unprecedented way Sri Rama Navami day. This is for the first time the festival is being celebrated as official celebration after the bifurcation of the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The state is developing the temple at Vontimitta, Kadapa district as the counterpart of Bhadrachalam of Telangnaa.
” Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam in Vontimitta is going to be performed as a never seen before event with grandeur as is going to the first official event after the formation of the state of Andhra Pradesh,” said TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy.
He released the pamphlets and booklets related to the Vontimitta Annual Brahmotsavams and Kalyana.
“The Brahmotsavams and Kalyanam are going to be historical one in tune with the state government’s plan to make Vontimitta as one of important pilgrim centres in South. TTD, which has taken over this ancient temple, has all plans prepared for this,” he added
The Brahmotsavams and other special events will commence from April 14 to April 24 while the Sri Rama Navami falls on April 15, Hanumatseva April 18, Sri sitarama Kalyanam April 20, Rathotsavam on April 21.
TTD is making elaborate arrangements for the fete and the devotees are invited to take part in this festival in a big way.
Though the festival was celebrated last year as well, this year, it was officially announced that Votimitta would host the Sriramanavati festival on behalf of the TTD and state government. The 16th century temple was taken over the TTD on September 10,2015. So, this years, Sri Rama Navami becomes the official celebration of the TTD and the government. In February the TTD officially adopted a resolution to organize the festival in an unprecedented way. Two lakh deveotees are expected to converge for the Kalyanam.
