Andhra Pradesh is also planning a socio-economic survey on the lines of the one conducted by Telangana government last year which attracted widespread opposition from political parties.
According to sources in AP government the data generated from the survey will be basically used to eliminate bogus beneficiaries of various schemes being implemented by the government. Government is of the opinion that benefits of the schemes are being cornered by these bogus beneficiaries enlisted during the Congress regime.
Called Smart Pulse Survey (SPS), the survey will be done basing on Aadhar data involving all the Government Departments. In the absence of Aadhar number, Voter ID or any other identity will be considered for the Smart Pulse Survey.All Departments will be involved in the survey meant to establish reliable, holistic and secure database with the help of one lakh tablets already supplied for field functionaries.
As for the benefits, the Survey is expected to provide a lifelong single identity, Certificate-Less-Governance, Speedier delivery of Services, Faster relief in Disasters, Life-Cycle Approach possible.
Pilot work of the survey will be taken up in three Mandals of three Districts each i.e., Ananthapuram, Prakasam and Vizianagaram.
Chief secretary IYR Krishna Rao today convened a meeting with the Secretaries of departments to review on the progress various schemes being implemented by the Government and Smart Pulse Survey.
