Politics and Films go hand in hand in the south Indian states. This trend is strongest in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. Earlier, film stars were affiliated with either the Telugu Desam Party or the Congress Party in the Telugu states, with a smattering going to BJP.

But after the emergence of TRS in Telangana, the party’s ministers are itching to get into the Film Industry in a major way. A few TRS leaders have already set foot into the industry through benamis, by financing distribution and production ventures.

But now, we may see some mainstream entries. According to sources, a major Reddy minister in the TRS Government is all set to bring in his family officially into the Film Industry later this year, as producers. Another well known MLA’s nephew is planning to make an entry as a hero.

With Hyderabad as the focal point for Telugu films, deeper foray of TRS into the Film Industry is inevitable.
