Allu Arjun is one actor who has planned his career very carefully and smartly. Right from his early days, he has focused on creating a unique identity for himself, by cleverly overcoming his shortcomings and flaws. After seeing him in ‘Gangotri’, who would have thought he would end up as Stylish Star Allu Arjun who commands a 50 Crore market at the Box Office?
Bunny is usually known for his boy next door image. His sense of style, family centric films and focus on entertainment have endeared him to young adults and family crowds. But now, Bunny is trying something very different for the first time in his career. Perhaps, he is bored of doing the ‘good’ stuff or perhaps, he just wanted to make the transition to a mass hero.
Whatever the reasoning may be, he decided to take a big risk with Boyapati Sreenu, who is known for his loud and over the top mass entertainers like ‘Simha’, ‘Legend’, Tulasi’ and ‘Dhammu’. While Boyapati’s larger than life characterisation is suitable for heroes like Balakrishna, Venkatesh and to a certain extent, even NTR and perhaps Ram Charan from this generation, one wonders whether viewers will be able to digest Bunny in such a role.
After watching the response to the theatrical trailer, Chiranjeevi and co got into the action and trimmed the violence a bit. Some portions have been reshot and the film’s final edit was changed a bit. These changes reportedly made Boyapati unhappy. Bunny himself is reportedly quite worried.
Whether Bunny’s big risk pays off or not will be clear this weekend . If it does, there will be smiles all around and everyone will be praised to the sky. In case the movie falters, expect a lot of finger pointing and accusations trading.
