Bobbili (Vijayanagaram district) YSRCP MLA Sujay Krishna Rangarao along with his brother Baby Nayana joined Telugu Desam party today. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu invited them into the party by offering Yellow kanduva. Rangarao announced that 150 grass-root level people’s representative also joined along with him. Naidu offered yellow kanduvas to many of the leaders. With this the number of MLAs, who deserted YS Jaganmohan Reddy to join TDP, rose to 12.
Addressing people upon his joining the TDP, Rangarao said it was a decision taken in the interest of the constituency and the people voted for him, and reiterated there was no politics involved in this. Earlier, Andhra Pradesh TDP president Kimidi Kala Venkatarao brought them to Naidu and introduced the scions Bobbili Maharaja to the CM. State HRD minister Ganta Srinivasarao was also present at the program.
Rangarao said he was happy that chief minister Naidu admitted him into the party on the auspicious day of his 66th birthday.
” People voted TDP to power in 2014 with the hope that state would progress. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is committed to the development of the state. Many a time I felt the twinge of guilt as a member of opposition I was working to stall the development. Now, I am free from that guilt consciousness,” Rangarao said.
He said he was convinced that the works on irrigation projects in his district Vizianagaram were progressing satisfactorily. He assured chief minister that he would work to strengthen the party in the district.
Another MLA from the district Rajanna Dora (Saluru), however, condemned the reports that he was also joining the ruling party. ” It’s true I had been contacted by the TDP leaders. But, I am not the one who could lured by money or positions. I will remain in opposition YSR Congress and sail with YS Jaganmohan Reddy,” Rajanna Dora told media.
