The formal launch of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 100th film, Gauthamiputra Satakarni, took place in style today morning in Annapurna Studios. Big names from the political spectrum and the film fraternity attend this grand event. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandra Sekhar Rao and Megastar Chiranjeevi are the special attraction for this event.
Even before the commencement of its regular shoot, this historical film is creating a lot of buzz among the trade circles. Telugu360 has exclusively learnt that the Overseas rights of the film have been snapped by Absolute Telugu Cinemas, one of the leading distribution houses there. Last year, they bagged ‘Kanche’ Overseas rights for a decent price.
Now,they have shelled out 3 Crores for Gauthamiputra Satakarni, which is the highest ever price in Balakrishna’s career. Balakrishna is yet to cross the half million mark in Overseas. His biggest hits Simha and Legend only managed to collect average figures in Overseas despite good talk. So, we have to wait and see if Balakrishna can achieve the mark with the prestigious film.
