YS Jaganmohan Reddy appears to be following the same path which his opponents walked to get the CBI inquiry instituted into the corruption in YSR regime and the alleged benefits reaped by Jagan, when his father YSR was CM.
Finally the Andhra Pradesh High Court took note of the petition filed against Jagan’s disproportionate assets, and the CBI inquiry was ordered. The case is now known as ‘quid-pro-quo’ case.
Jaganmohan Reddy, after demanding CBI inquiry into the defections of YSRC MLAs, is planning to knock at the doors of Court in case Justice is not done from his meetings with central ministers. His main demand is CBI inquiry into defections and insider trading in the lands near Amaravati.
He disclosed his plan to the media after his meeting with Election Commission Chief Nadeem Zaidi in New Delhi on Thursday. He said he had given proof available with him to the commission to show that each MLA had been given Rs 20 crore to Rs 30 crore for switching loyalties.
He said the ‘unethical’ and ‘corrupt practices’ of Chandrababu Naidu had been taken to the notice of central leaders and central agencies in the past two days. ” I am hopeful that justice will be done. It may be delayed, can’t be denied,” Jagan said and added that he had plans to take corruption in the state and ‘buying of MLAs to the court to seek inquiry into sources money being paid to the YSRC MLAs.
Stating that the invocation of provision of anti-defection law would not be possible as long as the authority to disqualify the member who crossed floor was vested in the Speaker.
He said the authority should be removed from speaker and vested in the election commission. ” There is a situation in Assembly that the defector would never resign on his own and nor would he be disqualified by the speaker. This should go ” he said.
He also urged the Election Commission to make the implementation of poll promises , at least the top ten mentioned in the manifesto, mandatory . EC should have authority to ban the political party in power, if backs on in implementing the top ten promises.
Jagan today wound up his three day ‘Save Democracy’ campaign without meeting the President and Prime Minister. ” We have sought an audience with Prime Minister. So far we haven’t got. May be , PMO is not responding since TDP is BJP’s ally, ” he said.
