YSR Congress President YS Jaganmohan Reddy is now embarking drought agitation in the state which will begin with dharnas on May 2. Jagan, who is enthused by the response he got from the national parties for his ” Save Democracy” will lead the drought dharna at Macharla in Guntur district.
Other leaders participate in the dharnas being organized at all mandal and RDO offices across the state. ‘The state has completely failed in tackling the severe drought the state is passing through. The state has no contingency plan for to meet the acute drinking water shortage and fodder scarcity. But, chief minister Naidu is busy in ‘buying MLA and Yellow Kanduvas” leaving the state and people in the lurhch,’ party leader K Parthasarathi said on Friday.
The dharnas were being organized protesting the inefficiency and indifference of the government in planning and tackling the drought, he said.
“Agriculture operations have not been taken up in half of the cultivable land in the rabi season. But the government is promising to convert the drought stricken Anantapur into Konaseema. The state has been making tall claims of interlinking of rivers and providing water to Krishna delta forgetting that tackling acute drinking water shortage and fodder in the rural areas is the need of the hour. The government is shirking its responsibility as Naidu is used to live in dreams rather than in reality,” he said. Parthsarathis, said, ” forget the jobs, it’s always the drought that comes calling when Babu come to power. Creation of job is not in the agenda of Naidu.” state makes no effort in creating jobs or mitigating drought as well, he said.
