Telangana government is making elaborate arrangements for the 69th Independence Day celebrations.
This is for the second time that Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is unfurling the tricolor near historic Golkonda fort on August 15, after the creation of separate state of Telangana.
On Thursday state government released Rs 50 lakh to meet the expenditure of the celebrations of Independence day such as buying trophies, flags, rent for the premises etc.The ceremony will be held on the Rani Mahal Lawns near the fort. Seating arrangements for about 10,000 people are being made at the lawn, which has served as the venue of Independence day celebration in 2014 also.
Para-military rehearsals of Independence Day Celebrations have been carried out in the premises of Golconda Fort. Chief minister along with TRS leaders and Officials have monitored the preparatory works. Heavy security arrangements have been made near the fort area.On the occasion of Independence day the important structures like Secretariat, Assembly, Raj Bhavan, High Court, Charminar etc. would be colorfully illuminated.The chief minister on Saturday morning first pays floral tributes at Sainik Smark at parade grounds and later proceeds to the Golconda Fort.
