YSRCP leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who has been at the receiving end of Operation Akarsh, aggressively being pursued by TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh, is said to be thinking of giving a retort to Naidu with ‘Counter-Akarsh’. According to sources, Jagan is planning to woo to YSR Congres all those TDP leaders who are upset by the entry of their arch rivals into the TDP.
YSRC Party managers have reportedly started contacting the leaders of TDP, who are not happy with the opening of gates to opposition MLAs by chief minister. While leaders like Karanam Balaramkrishnamurthy openly opposed Naidu’s recent policy of admitting every ‘Tom Dick Hary’ from YSR Congress, others are not dare enough to talk it in public. He came before media and deplored that Naidu was ready to admit any MLA irrespective of the criminal and corruption antecedents if he is from YSR Congress. He was referring Gottipati Ravikumar, an YSRC MLA from Addanki, who was admitted into TDP ten days back.
Karanam Balaram is a known leader of stature, and an old-guard of the party in Prakasam district. Karanam, who has been with Naidu through thick and thin, went to the extent of demanding amendments to the provisions of Anti-defection law to make an MLA from one party defecting to another impossible without losing his membership in the Assembly.
Jagan appears to have observed the ripples the defections created in the Telugu Desam party.
Recently, TDP leaders from Kurnool and Srisailam Assembly constituencies are peeved because of the admission of YSRC MLAs, SV Mohan Reddy and Budda Rajasekhar Reddy respectively into TDP. Naidu admitted SV Mohan Reddy into TDP on May 7 much to the disappointment TG Vekatesh, who was his opponent in 2014 elections. So, TG is unlikely to continue in the party, he will soon come out brandishing his original talwar, injustice to Rayalaseema, sources claim. As for Budda Rajasekhar Reddy, his rivals in the constituency, Shilpa Chandrasekhar Reddy, former MLA Erasu Pratap Reddy, find it difficult to continue in the party. Earlier, Nandyala, Jammalamadugu, witnessed defection -induced internal revolts.
Sources in the YSRC is of the opinion that, these political factions can never bury their hatchet to continue in the same party. ” It’s a matter of time, either Naidu will ditch them or vice versa. So, for them the only option is YSRC . Because, none of these leaders have grouse against Jagan. Jagan’s Counter Akarsh will soon begin with a bang,” the sources claimeed.
As a proof to the fact that the Counter Akarsh is beginning, the sources point towards Muralikrishna , former Kodumur MLA, who quit TDP protesting the admission of Kodumur YSRC MLA Mani Gandhi into party by Chandrababu Naidu. According to sources, Jagan is sharpening the Counter-Akarsh
