Major changes are happening at the print edition of Sakshi. While political changes have been going on for a while, the latest department to fall victim to the changes is the film desk.
A senior and well respected journalist has resigned as head of the film desk and sources say that he has been trying his best to resist pressure from the management. Apparently, Jagan’s wife Bharathi, who is running the day to day operations of Sakshi now, is putting up very unreasonable demands and is interfering with the freedom of the writers.
The newspaper is also supposed to be going in for a new editorial stand where films and producers will now have to pay for film coverage one week before and one week after the release of a movie, like Times of India.
