Kapu reservation movement leader Mudragada Padmanabham dashed off another letter to chief minister Chandrababu Naidu urging him to stick to the assurances he had given to the members of Kapu Jati with regard to the inclusion of the caste among the BCs.
The former minister keeps on writing letters to CM with amazing frequency. After indefinite fast, letter-writing is Mudragada’s sharp political tool. It looks as though he is writing letters more to remind the people that he has not called of his fight rather than reminding the chief minister about pending demands of Kapus. He wrote the letter in question against the backdrop of calling of his fast instead of intensifying the Kapu agitation for achieve the BC status for the community. Two times, he called off his threat go on fast in the past two months. So, he might have thought that he should immediately make his presence felt lest people would think that Mudragada is won over by seasoned Chandrababu Naidu. When Mudragada called off his fast taking the juice offered TDP Andhra President Kala Venkatarao three months back, everybody thought that Naidu succeeded in thwarting the fast without giving anything in return. It took more than a month for the Kapu leader to realized he was cheated with sweet-lime juice.
So,Mudragada letter appears to be more reminder to the Kapus about need to remember their demands rather than reminding the chief minister about the Kapu demands.
In the letter, the Kapu leader requested the CM to allocate the promised Rs 1000 crore to the Kapu Corporation and announced the BC status to the Kapus as per the calendar Naidu himself announced.
He called upon the Kapus not to rest until the goal of Kapus is achieved . Similarly, he advised them not allow Chandrababu Naidu have rest till he fulfills all the assurances he had given to the Kapu Jati.
” Instead of resorting to counter attack, Chandrababu Naidu should follow Rajasthan and Haryana where the governments accorded BC status to Jats by adopting a resolution in Assembly. Kindly don’t force me to hit the streets again for the welfare my Jati,” Mudragada warned the CM in the letter.
