Aam Aadmi Party is heading towards a vertical spit in Punjab. The party has four LOk Sabha MPs and all of them are from Punjab.
AAP MPs Harinder Khalsa and Dharam veer Gandhi have reportedly decided to leave tha party. Apart from them, other key leaders like Harvinder Singh Phoolka, Daljit Singh and Jassi Jasraj have also decided to part ways with AAP.These leaders have criticized AAP founder and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for his “dictatorial attitude”.Rebel AAP MPs accused Kejriwal of encouraging coutarie politics. They also sais that AAP is running Delhi durbar and treating the Punjab unit like a colony.
This is not a new allegation. Soon after the 2014 elections, these two MPs have expressed displeasure over AAP leaders’ attitude.The latest rebellion in AAP is a good news for the ruling Akali Dal, BJP combine. AAP is ambitious to win in the Assembly elections in Punjab, to be held next year.If the party witnesses a vertical split, then it could be an advantage for the BJP, the saffron party hopes.
