The relocation of employees belonging to various heads of department offices from Hyderabad to the new capital area in Andhra Pradesh was supposed to take by June 27th. This deadline was put forward by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. But it turns out that the shifting is for….1 day.
Almost all of the employees who were present in Vijayawada for the office opening ceremony ended up returning to Hyderabad the very same night! According to them, a little more time was needed to make sure the shifting process was smooth and permanent.
Hence, the banner stating that a few heads of departments like the finance branch have moved to Vijayawada is actually a publicity stunt. Some of the finance department officials were even surprised by the ‘opening ceremony’.
The truth has turned out to be something very different. A building at Ibrahimpatnam has been taken and being renovated right now. Once the renovation is complete, 5 HODs of the finance department will move into it. Other officials state important things like office files, furniture, etc. are still stuck in the Hyderabad office. In many cases, the employees haven’t even been provided accommodation for residence.
To signify the start of the shifting process, a few HODs have held an inauguration ceremony for their offices. But the employees working in those offices are still in the process of shifting.
Right now, the HODs still have offices in Hyderabad. On the other hand, 15 departments have opened their offices near Vijayawada with 20 more offices being renovated. The whole renovation process is expected to complete in the space of 2 weeks.
