Two Cabinet ministers Najma Heptulla and G. M. Siddeshwara resigned. The resignations have been approved by the President of India. Najma Heptulla was handling Minority Affairs Ministry and G. M. Siddeshwara was taking charge of Ministry of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
Naqvi is MoS for Minority Affairs and he got promoted to Independent charge. Najma Heptulla is rumoured to show the door by Modi in the last week cabinet reshuffle itself as she turns 75. Najma resignation comes in wake of Modi’s call for ministers aged above 75 to quit for promotion of younger generation. Heptulla worked as vice president of BJP and five times Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan.
Babul Supriyo who is taking care of Minister of State for Urban Development, and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation is relieved from the posts and he was appointed in place of G M Siddeshwara.
