The ambitious Smart Pulse Survey of Andhra Pradesh government is going at a snail’s pace. The survey was kick-started from chief minister home district Chittor about a week ago. To complete survey, Chittor district is divided as 2,473 blocks with each block covering approximately 500 families. Each block will be surveyed by two enumerators.
The district has about 10lakh households of which only 1500 households completed survey as of now. The major reason for the delay is accounted to the fact that technical glitches and improper training for enumerators.
In most of cases, the technical gadgets given to enumerators didn’t working properly. Complaints about software malfunctioning and failed password authentications are pouring for the senior officials. Most of VROs and self-help group members who are participating in the survey are not well conversant with technology and they are finding difficulty in handling the equipment due to improper training. The situation is more or less in the same way across state.
The deadline for the survey completion is July and it is expected to continue till August end. Smart Pulse survey started by TDP government aimed to collect data regarding socio economic conditions of people. This data will be used for better implementation of government schemes.
