It’s a great thing that a veteran like Mohanlal has done at this juncture of his career. Learning an altogether new language and even dubbing for one self in it is no easy task. In fact, the ability to master a language is in itself a tough thing to do.
The recent teaser and trailer of Manamantha have given us a peek into the aspect. But we do have a nitpicking to do. While we appreciate the effort, and obviously with no interest to malign a star of his cadre, there’s a visible flaw which we are trying to reflect here.
As much as the effort has gone into the film in terms of the Telugu dubbing by the star, any Telugu-speaking person can spot the lack of perfection in the diction. While he does manage to deliver several dialogues with ease, the native touch is missing for sure but what comes as the point of contention here is that a few dialogues are seeming difficult to decipher. All this… From the trailer only. One can imagine what’s the possibility of this in the entire film.
Coming from a technically agile and strong director like Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, it does come as a shock. Apparently, the director spent hours together with the star helping him in every single dialogue throughout the dubbing phase. But still, in spite of all the effort, we see this little miss.
There isn’t a lot of time left for the release and at this juncture all we can do is hope that they have made. We know the superstar has put in it of effort. Let’s hope what we see in the trailer is the only sample of this imperfection. We don’t want to miss out on the wonderful experience of a superstar’s reentry into Tollywood just because of the dubbing issues, do we?
