Actor Rajasekhar, most popular for donning the khaki in 1990s’ Telugu films such as “Ankusam”, “Aagraham” and “Magaadu”, will be seen in a reinvented police avatar in his next Telugu project.
This yet-untitled film will be directed by National Award winning filmmaker Praveen Sattaru.
“Praveen is going to reinvent Rajasekhar’s angry cop avatar. Rajasekhar will be playing his age in this suspense drama and his role will be along the lines of his character from ‘Magaadu’, but even more serious,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.
Rajasekhar will be sporting a new look.
“Praveen wants the film to be as realistic as possible. In terms of character presentation, Rajasekhar is required to sport a new look, but it has been developed keeping in mind the realistic tone of the film,” the source said.
The film, which is slated to go on the floors next month, also stars actress Pooja Kumar, last seen in Kamal Haasan’s Tamil drama “Uttama Villain”.
“Pooja will be seen playing Rajasekhar’s wife. Praveen was in search of an actress who could play this matured role and it’s around the same time, somebody suggested Pooja’s name. He immediately felt she would be apt for the role,” he said.
The latest addition to the cast is actors Shraddha Das and Adith Arun.
“As part of the ensemble cast, Shraddha and Adith have been roped in to play pivotal roles. While details regarding their characters have been safely guarded, it has been learnt that they’ll be playing something quite contrary to the kind of roles they have essayed so far,” he added.
The rest of the cast will be finalised in a couple of weeks.
