Very few directors can handle Romance. By romance, we do not mean the cheesy ‘run behind the girl’ type sequences that are so often found in our cinemas. True romance is often found in expressions, in the little things that often go unnoticed. Things like expressions, subtle dialogues and the use of eyes to convey love. Very few directors understand this and fewer still succeed in translating the emotions onto the big screen.
Srinivas Avasarala may just be the Prince of Romance in Tollywood. After delivering a beautiful romcom with ‘Oohalu Gusa Gusalade’, Srinivas took some time off for his second film ‘Jyo Achyutananda’. The movie is garnering some positive talk from early shows.
More than the outcome at the Box Office, it is the way in which Avasarala has handled film that is more impressive. Perhaps, at a time when there is a huge shortage of directors who can effectively narrate stories, Srini’s success is like a breath of fresh air.
