Filmmaker Harish Shankar, known for hit films such as “Mirapakay” and “Gabbar Singh”, is all set to direct as well produce the yet-untitled Telugu remake of Hindi blockbuster “Special 26”.
“Harish is currently busy with the pre-production work of his next film with Allu Arjun. After completing this film, he will commence work on ‘Special 26’ remake, which he intends to direct as well as produce with his close friend Krishna,” a reliable source told IANS.
Although it was rumoured that Ravi Teja would star in the remake, the source clarified that the cast and crew are yet to be finalised.
Inspired from 1987 Opera House heist where a group posing as Income Tax officer raided the jeweler, “Special 26” starred Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher and Jimmy Shergill.
