Hyderabad: A youngster, who was towing a goods carrier (auto) stuck in knee-level water, fell in a manhole near Nacharam in Hyderabad on Friday evening. He was immediately saved by a person adjacent to him in the last minute saving his life. The whole episode was caught on camera.
Victim was identified as Ravi. He was rushed to hospital and was discharged in two hours. With the heavy rains lashing Hyderabad, most of the roads under GHMC were inundated with storm water. Residents are fearing to come out of their houses. Motorists, who are wading through the submerged roads of the city, are fearing of manholes.
Several areas like Nizampet, Miyapur, Kukatpally Balanagar, Jeedimetla, and other low-lying areas have submerged following incessant rains. Water continues to be stagnated in several colonies.
Meanwhile, the Cyclone Warning Centre predicted that the Hyderabad would reel under heavy rains for another seven days. There will be heavy rainfall till September 27. There would be moderate rains from Sept 27 to 30th.
Meanwhile, speaking to media persons, Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Ramamohan claimed that flood water under GHMC limits is started receding and urged the people not go panic.
Several NGOs and celebrities of Tollywood are extending helping hands to those who are stranded in colonies due to floods.
Bhandari layout in Nizampet, Srinivas colony, Moosapet, Janatha Nagar, Allwyn colony, Dharani nagar. In Begumpet, Vaddara Bhasti, Allamthota Bhavi, Ambedkar nagar in Secunderabad, Mohammadguda, Bhudevi Nagar in Alwal, Hasmathpet and several colonies were reeling under flood water.
