Telangana Today, an English newspaper from the publishers of a popular Telugu daily Namaste Telangana, is in mad search of a good muhurtham to hit the stands. Going by the latest information, the management wishes to bring it from dasara, known as Vijaya Dasami, that falls in the second week of October.
K.Srinivas Reddy, the Editor, is not known as a horoscope-driven sentimental journalist but internal sources say his management is very specific about an auspicious day. Obviously, the Press Club log are making fun of the prolonged procrastination though TT journalists are not at all bothered by this. As long as the management pays their salaries on time, they don’t worry much about the launch date. Surprisingly, senior journalists of the TT are also not sure of the date.
Launching cost of TT, however, has gone up due to the delay. Srinivas Reddy recruited journalists in March-April with an idea of bringing the edition in July. All the journalists in TT are working for dummies as if they are working for a regular edition.
“Dummies are coming out well and people are happy with the print quality. They are eagerly waiting for the muhurtham. Hopefully it will be out on Dasara,” a senior journalist from print media said. However, it is learnt that the management is contemplating to bring it out three days before Dasara as the date meets the horoscopic calculations of the top management and the Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao.
Journalist community is eagerly waiting to see the first copy of Telangana Today as it had already received rave reviews about its design and are waiting to see how the dream paper of “Tiger” would be.
