Hyderabad: After heavy rains, now heavy dust has added to the woes of Hyderabad commuters. With no sweeping taken up by the GHMC sanitation department, the commuters are facing inconvenience due to the dust particles on the city roads.
According to the Pollution Control Board on Monday, 60.9 microgram of dust particles per metre cube in the air. Doctors warned people of taking precautions before venturing out on the roads. Covering nose and mouth with a damp cloth and a mask may reduce inhalation of dust particles.
Areas such as Kukatpally, Moosapet, Kothaguda, roads leading to Hitech City, Balanagar, Secunderabad, ECIL, Tarnaka, Uppal, roads in Old City and parts of the city roads are giving a tough time for the commuters.
Above 60 micrgrams of dust is unbearable. Goggles or sun glasses could protect the eyes from dust. Rubbing of eyes may cause severe infection which leads to loss of vision, warn doctors. Rains are expected to lash the city for another three more days.
