Hyderabad: Is KCR taking decisions in a transparent manner with regard to creation of districts? Or, KCR is just playing cards close to his chest following suggestions from district TRS leaders? Whatever be the rationality behind reorganisation of new districts, there are several doubts are being raised by the public as to what good these new districts will help them?
The opposition is making criticism saying that common public caught off-guard when the Telangana government is going on increasing the number of districts. The number has reached 31. Initially, it was decided that the districts should be pegged at 25. Later, it became 27. When all were thinking that the KCR government has zeroed in the number, out of blue, KCR decided to reconsider his decision after meeting with the district TRS leaders and declared that Gadwal, Siricilla, Asifabad, Jagaon will become districts.
Following criticism from the opposition on the Telangana government for creation of new districts, Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj K Taraka Rama Rao has asserted that the districts are being reorganised only with a view to make administration better.
Speaking to media persons in Hyderabad on Wednesday, KTR hailed his father – Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao saying that the latter is a transparent leader. And the leaders who have preconceived notion are criticising KCR, he said. KTR also termed that criticism against creation of Siricilla as meaningless.
He recalled that there were several instances where had KCR changed his decisions as per the wish of the Telangana people. KTR claimed that the Telangana State, which was born amidst several doubts, is now going on growth path. Congress leaders Jaipal Reddy and Vamsi Chandh Reddy should have shame for demanding only one revenue division, KTR criticised.
