As the days nearing in for the launch of new districts, the protests are being intensified demanding few more districts in Telangana. While the districts are pegged at 31 by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, demand for separate district in the name of former Prime Minister and father of Economic Reforms – P.V Narasimha Rao has cropped up.
The local TRS leaders are exerting pressure on Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender demanding Huzurabad town be made headquarters of the new districts by merging Husnabad constituency along with 16 mandals in the surroundings.
There is a protest being made for Mulug district. Tense situation prevailed when the agitators organised a rasta-roko and subsequently, the police had to resort to laticharge to quell the mob.
Meanwhile, people in Miryalguda are protesting for separate district. Educational institutions, business establishments are extending support to district.
Even after KCR declared that there would be no change after 31 districts are finalised, there seems to be a situation prevailed similar to that of ‘Sakala Janula Samme’ during Telangana agitation.
