It is the excellence in each and every craft of a film that makes it successful. Everyone has their own skills and it is the duty of the actor to listen to the instructions of the director. If the actor has ample experience, he can sure suggest changes to the director, however Tollywood has been witnessing many young actors who scored just 1-2 hits in their careers and are thriving much to interfere in the work of the director. Though it is quite awkward to listen, the list has been quite high in Tollywood. This has become the biggest barrier for many young and aspiring directors.
Going into the detail, a young hero who scored decent hits in his career has been busy with 2-3 films currently. He aspired of becoming a director however fate made him an actor. Right after turning up as an actor, he has been showing his love for direction which has been irritating the entire cast and crew of the film. His involvement in the script and his interference in directing a shot has been the best example. There has been a star comedian who turned an actor in the recent times. He has a habit of watching Korean movies and he has been forcing his directors to prepare such shots. The comedian turned actor has a habit of showing the Korean films to his directors which is leaving them irritated and frustrated. The other story is about a minimum guarantee actor who scored many decent hits. He has been suggesting lot of changes to the script which has been locked. He even has been struggling for a hit however he never prefers to listen to his director.
The son of a senior director who directed over 50 films (expired recently) has been doing films in Telugu cinema. He has been struggling for success and the actor has a habit of preparing the script along with the scenes and the duty of the director is to just direct those scenes. If the director comes out with new scenes, the actor makes enough changes in his style. All his directors have been left frustrated and are worried to spend time penning the scripts.
All the above actors aspired of becoming directors however it happened to be their luck which brought them enough recognition in Tollywood. If the film succeeds, it’s ok, else it is the director who will be blamed for the film’s failure. This will almost end up the career of the director. All the young heroes can take their time and make their debut as directors instead of spoiling the career’s of upcoming and young directors who dream big in cinema. Hope they realise this and stop interfering in the scripts at least in the coming days.
