Rag Picker pune
Pune: While there were several instances where people are seen wandering near public-garbage bins in search of black-money bags in almost all major cities and towns, this elderly ragpicker, Shanta Ovhal, in Pune directly approached the police when she found a bag full of Rs 1,000 currency notes at a garbage bin near Law College Road in the city.
Although she was thrilled to see the notes initially, she seemed to have developed fear and went directly to the local police station along with the bag full of cash, said the policeman. Shocked seeing her with the bag, the inspector hailed her intention to handover the cash to the police rather keeping with her. The police swung into action and are ascertaining the genuineness of the notes.
So far, two instances of black money dumps in garbage bins are reported across the country within 24 hours after the Centre demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes.
There is another news doing rounds on black money is that a local MLA in Karnataka reportedly distributing black money to general public. This went viral in social media. However, there seems to be no authenticity over the news published in web media.
