Indicating his entry into electoral fray in 2019 elections making Eluru of West Godavari district as his `center of activity’ taking a house there for residence, Jana Sena party chief Pawan Kalyan seems to be making his first political move in the district with a visit to Thundurru village, near Bhimavaram. In this village for the past two years people have been raising the issue of Aqua Food Park, protesting against the idea.
After his continued stir seeking special status to Andhra Pradesh organising massive public meetings in Kakinada and Anantapur, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s next destination is reportedly a visit to Thundurru village near Bhimavaram.
For the past two years, people of Thundurru village near Bhimavaram have been raising the issue of the Aqua Food Park protesting against the idea. When the villagers approached him few months ago, Pawan Kalyan extended support to them and even appealed to the state government in a press conference to to shift the Aqua Food Park to another location as its gonna pollute the surroundings.
Now, it seems he is determined to raise this issue in a more forceful way by visiting the village and interacting with them. Already, he has sent his party men to the village to examine the situation at the ground level. Depending upon feedback from his party men, he is planning to visit the village in two weeks’ time.
He even cautioned the government to not let the village become another Nadigram adding that these factories produce wastes polluting the rivers and questioned the government on not responding to the plight of the villagers. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu maintained `strategic silence’ to the request after formally assuring the villagers that the area will be a no-pollution zone.
