TDP MPs Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and J C Diwakara Reddy are luckiest former Congress leaders in Andhra Pradesh. Just at the time of 2014 polls sensing disastrous prospects for Congress in the post-division period and failed to get space in YSRCP, joined TDP as a last resort, but elected to Lok Sabha at a time most of their colleagues in Congress party remained faceless by now.
However, since then they seems to be unable to get adjusted to the political environment in TDP, as being senior leaders they were habituated to unrestricted `freedom’ in Congress. Moreover, their failure to be `accommodate’ with local TDP leaders also makes them to feel `outsiders’ till now.
As a result, their frequent `irritating’ statements making party supremo Chandrababu Naidu irksome. Chief Minister felt embarrassment two days ago, when Diwakara Reddy went on fasting at Anantapur Municipal office, urging municipal authorities to take up road widening works.
Local MLA Prabhakar Chowdary, though sailed with him closely till 2014 polls, developing antagonism against the MP due to alleged attempts of Diwakara Reddy to expand his personal influence in Anantapur town, replacing Chowdary’s dominance.
Chandrababu Naidu had summoned last evening Choudary and other officials to his camp office in Amaravathi and cautioned them not to air their differences openly. Asking both Choudary and Reddy not to interfere into road widening work, he constituted a three member committee with two ministers and an MLA to take a decision.
Likewise, Rayapati being the six-time MP, felt disappointment after his futile efforts to become TTD Trust Board Chairman, his most desired political ambition since many years. He also made futile attempts to get Rajya Sabha seat to his close associate and former minister D Manikya Vara Prasad.
He had failed to open his MP office at his constituency headquarter Narasaraopet, due to reported objection by the son of AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, who has been continuing as `defacto’ MLA there, though it was won by YSRCP.
