Everyone are surprise over the mysterious silence of almost all BJP leaders in Andhra Pradesh over demonetization though Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been repeatedly asking his party MPs and workers to go every corner and educate the public on the urgency of this decision. Barring union minister Venkaiah Naidu conducting few press meeting here and there, other leaders who have been till recently claiming to emerge as a political alternate in the state by 2019, remained calm.
On the one side Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who in the beginning tried to claims credit for this bold move, now started narrating lacuna’s in Prime Minister’s initiative sensing public contentment. But surprisingly two BJP ministers in his cabinet, or even state president and Visakhapatnam MP Dr K Hari Babu or even its legislators remains mute spectators to Naidu’s outbursts.
Former Congress leaders like Kavuru Sambasiva Rao and Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, who are now in BJP and till recently tried to make use of every opportunity to denounce Chandrababu Naidu’s regime, also not seen much these days.
According to BJP sources these leaders preferring to maintain calm sensing public outcry and incidental problems they are facing. “We have no answers to the problems being pointed out by people at banks and ATMs. So we felt it will be nice to maintain silence at this juncture, till normalcy restores”, said a state level office bearer.
They seems to be worried over Chandrababu Naidu’s tactic of pushing all blames towards Prime Minister so that to makes him clean before the public. “As we are directed by the party president Amit Shah not to air our views against Chandrababu Naidu openly, we feel as if in a detention”, said a senior leader.
