Demonetization effect survey by modi
In the background of united opposition’s war against his government on the issue of demonetization, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is happy to realise that an overwhelming number of 98 respondents to his survey have responded positively. The survey conducted to know the public mood on his mobile app, with in over 24 hours (till 3.30 pm) an extremely large number of over five lakh people participated.
In the wake of opposition’s onslaught against Modi’s demonetization move terming it as an “economic anarchy” and creating uproar in the Parliament stalling its proceedings, yesterday prime minister asked people, if they were ready to face hardship for some time in fight against black money.
Posting results on his Twitter today, Modi thanked people for their `historic participation’ in the survey. He said people in general felt “the evil of corruption and black money” needed to be dealt with sternly. While more than 92% of the respondents support the move, just 2% “have rated the move as very poor or one star.
Expressing his jubilation over the support, he said in a post on PM’s website (narendramodi.in) that “This is a staggering number by any stretch. No opinion survey conducted in India, on such policy or political issues, even comes close to sampling so many responses.”
While, more than 90% of the respondents feel the government’s move to tackle black money is above four-star rating, 73% of them give it five-star rating of brilliant. On the overall fight against corruption, more than 92% of respondents either rate the government as very good or good. 57% of them rate the fight as Very Good, it added.
