It’s really a black Sunday for the citizens of cash starving Hyderabad as overwhelming about 80 per cent of ATMs are practically closed. On hand banks are closed continuously for the second day and people find it difficult to identify a functioning ATM.
Even at few ATMs, where cash is available, long queues makes people panic. In search of such ATMs many went round the city. But most of them returning with desperation.
As it is also month-end, many find it difficult even to meet common need like purchase of vegetables. At many places ATMs are seen locked, closing shutters. Even security personnel are also not seen.
Long queues at ATMs are mostly due to each customer taking much time to draw their money coming with two or three ATM cards, of different banks. Even after 18 days of demonetization, bankers are unable to see some solution at reach. Mostly ATMs are seen with big rush where residential places are close by.
Many employees are worrying to meet their financial requirement during first week of a month towards payment of house rent, maid servant salaries etc.
