Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is preparing to face the storm winter sessions of the state assembly, to be commenced from December 16. The state cabinet meeting held under his chairmanship last evening has formulated a detailed study to counter opposition’s tirade.
Though he did not indicated the number of the days the sessions to be held, he has reportedly given indication they would be continued till this month end. He also has reportedly stated that he is prepared to continue session even after month-end, if the opposition allow for smooth conduct of the session. Thus, it seems he has indicated he would not allow if the opposition resort to disturb opposition proceedings.
Earlier, senior Congress MLC P Sudhakara Reddy sought that the session should be held at least for 15 days. He accused that the Chief Minister was conducting Assembly session at his whims and fancies to meet his political gains. As per the provisions, he said the government should run Assembly sessions at least for 52 days but the government is violating the said rule without conducting the sessions as per laid down rules.
Recalling that this year till now the assembly was met only for 11 days and there was no monsoon session of the assembly, he deplored that the KCR government is mocking the democracy norms, he said.
Meanwhile, Telangana BJP Legislature Party has demanded that the State Government should ensure that the session was held for at least 20 working days to facilitate discussion on various issues concerning common man.
After meeting of the legislature party, its floor leader G Kishan Reddy said that the party would raise several issues pertaining to farmers, students, 2BHK houses for poor, discrepancies in conduct of exams by Telangana State Public Service Commission and other issues. He said that the State Government would be asked to give clarifications on misuse and diversion of Central funds sent towards input subsidy for farmers.
