The resignation of former MLA from Vijayawada West Constituency Velampalli Srinivas from BJP and his intention to join the main YSRCP, indicates the beginning of `outsiders’ from BJP in Andhra Pradesh.
Former MLA from Vijayawada West constituency Vellampalli Srinivas is all set to join the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). It may be recall that many Congress leaders, who fail to get `entry’ into YSRCP had joined BJP just before 2014 elections and also later. After formation of Narendra Modi government at the Center they expected that they would be suitably `rewarded’ with some plump official positions.
Some of the leaders strives hard to strengthen BJP into a political alternative in the state by breaking away its ties with ruling BJP. Even the party high command encouraged them in the beginning, as later `political compulsions’ makes them to cement ties with Chandrababu Naidu, they left no choice but to quit.
Vellampalli was also an active Congress MLA. Realising party’s disastrous prospects after bifurcation, he made bitter attempts to join both YSRCP and TDP. As a last option, he joined BJP and contested as its candidate from his own constituency, only to be defeated.
After defection of local YSRCP MLA Jaleel Khan to TDP aspiring for ministerial berth, the way paved for him, so quickly `shifting’ his loyalties. He said that he will formally join YSRCP on December 13 in the presence of YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Many other leaders, who joined BJP after failing entry into YSRCP and TDP, are now looking forward for better avenues with a discontent on BJP leadership.
