The Telangana assembly today witnessed sharp and emotional arguments between TRS and Congress members claiming each their bondage with Telangana. The leader of opposition K Jana Reddy turning emotional accusing the K Chadnrasekhar Rao regime most undemocratic, asked “If we acted like this way when we were in power both at the canter and state, how would be your fate”.
IT and Industries Minister took severe objection for his words accusing him of reflecting Congress’s autocratic and feudal nature and sought to withdraw those words. While participating in a short discussion on Mission Bhagiradha, Congress leader Bhatti Vikramarka expressed several doubts on the implementation of this programme.
Intervening at this stage, Finance Minister Etela Rajender said Chief Minister K Chadnrasekhar Rao initiated this programme aiming at “my Telangana daughters should not move on main reads with a pot for water”.
Responding to his comment, Jana Reddy said that “it is not `my Telangana’, but “our Telangana”. But, K T Rama Rao accused that “Congress had never treated Telangana as ‘My Telangana’. If the party feels `my Telangana’ we could have achieved Telangana state a long ago”.
He further went on questioning Congress. “Are you not resorted to forceful marriage in 1956? Is it Congress responsible for 370 suicides in 1969? It is not you (Congress) delayed from 2004 to 2014? He claimed that in an inevitable situation due to agitation, Telangana state was accorded.
He reminded that self-certification of giving Telangana will not help Congress as people voted for TRS only due to their confidence. Then Jana Reddy became emotional again and said if Congress wants could have crushed the agitation. Then, KTR asked is Congress feeling they have done a mistake by giving Telangana state?
Jana Reddy said in a democracy opposition used to put up their perception on government’s programmes and the government should try to clarify them. But attempting to crush their voice is undemocratic. Accusing this government turned undemocratic, he recalled that Chief Minister refusing to meet Left parties even to submit some memorandums.
