The CPM today slammed the TRS government for amending land acquisition laws accusing that it was trying to forcibly take farm lands in the name of constructing projects. State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram deplored that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao came to power by riding on people’s movement but ditched the poor after assuming the power.
Speaking at a programme as part of the party’s Mahajana Padayatra in Gollapalli village, he alleged that the TRS government saying that it had forgotten the promises it made during the Assembly elections.
He lamented that the TRS government failed to fulfil majority of poll promises. Stating that it failed to provide even the basic amenities in villages and for people from backward classes, he expressed concern that migrations to cities have increased as the state government failed to develop villages and backward regions.

He took strong objections to the KCR’s criticism of Left parties. The CPM leader said that the Left parties enjoy the support of masses and vowed to fight for the rights of marginalised sections.
Earlier, speaking in the Telangana assembly during discussion on amendments to Land Acquisition Act, Chandrasekhar Rao slammed Left parties accusing them of misleading farmers. He accused that the Left parties were creating unnecessary fuss over the land acquisition and were posing threat to the lives of farmers. He said that the Opposition parties will be responsible if the farmers accrued losses due to misinformation campaign by the Opposition.
