The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, who has survived with fractures from an disastrous attempt on his life by Maoists, who exploded improvised claymore mines targeting his motorcade on the Tirumala ghat road in October, 2003, is against said to be targeted by them, this time in Delhi.
According to the inputs provided by the Delhi police to the state police, Maoists are now plotting to kill him during his Delhi visits under the guise of `media personnel’. Till now they conducted reiki during his visits in and around Andhra Bhavan in Delhi, where Chief Minister resides during his Delhi visits.
It may be recalled that he is the frequent visitor to Delhi. He is one of the leader in the country having highest security net, monitored by NSGs. Even during Congress regime in the state, he could sustain their security net by approaching the Supreme Court.
Maoists said to be intensifying their efforts to catch him after recent police encounter in Andhra – Odissa boarder, in which more than 30 Maoists were killed. Delhi police informed the state police now they are probing to know how many Maoists were involved in their reiki operations in the national capital.
Delhi police also said to be identified severe security lapses at Andhra Bhavan for the Chief Minister and had warned the state police in this regard. In view of the latest inputs from Delhi police, state police is now conducting a review to further strengthen security for the Chief Minister. According to official sources, now it was decided that hereafter media personnel and even TDP leaders would not be allowed to meet Chandrababu Naidu at Andhra Bhavan.
