The Congress leaders became furious with the Governor ESL Narasimhan for showering praises on the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the good governance. Accusing that the Governor neglecting his `constitutional’ responsibilities, they alleged turning into KCR’s `Brand Ambassador’. Even went to the extent to consider to `boycott Governor’ without going to him to give any representation.
They have demanded the Governor to explain in what respect KCR has emerged as the `Best Chief Minister’. They questioned the basis for frequent praises as `Dynamic Chief Minister’ and `Number One CM’. They suspect that by colluding with KCR, the Governor is making attempts for further extension of his term. Already he is about to complete his second term in this office.
Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammad Ali Shabbir asks Governor tell reasons for his frequent praises. Is it for going back from distributing 3 acres land for each dalit family, 12 per cent reservation to SCs and STs or failure in making dalit as a Chief Minister ? Moreover, he said that the Chief Minister has the credit of brining the surplus state into Rs 60,000 crore indebtedness.
Accusing that the Governor has no respect on the constitution, he deplored that without makes him to resign as an MLA, he inducted defected MLA Talasani Srinivas into the cabinet. “It is a shameful for a governor to spent praising an un-popular government”, he added.
Meanwhile, former union minister Sarvey Sathyanarayana advised Narasimhan to immediately resign as Governor and join as Chief Publicity Officer at Chief Minister’s office. Former Minister and Congress Legislature Party deputy leader B Jeevan Reddy deplored that in his three and half decades’ public life he had not come across such a Governor with anti-democratic spirit. “He has no moral right to continue in office”, he added.
Though opposition parties were discontent since a long with Governor’s `partisan’ attitude towards the Chief Minister, their immediate provocation was due to his praises on the New Year’s Day. When Chief Minister along with his Cabinet colleagues, bureaucrats and legislators met him to greet on the occasion, the Governor said “CM had the habit of taking advice and once he makes up his mind there is no going back”.
