BJP’s senior leader G Kishan Reddy, who was earlier known for his aggressive criticisms against ruling parties from the floor of the Assembly, as party’s legislature party leader, is now surprising every one by finding virtues in the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, more than failures in governance.
Maintaining distance from other opposition parties, now he is moving closer to the ruling party and turned philosophical in the assembly by `advising’ or `praising’ the government on various issues, instead of criticisms.
With his sudden proximity with the government, fearing people may `misunderstood’ his softness, he has been restricting his criticism against Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). Recently he went to GHMC office protesting against prevailing potholes on city roads.
Again in the Assembly, yesterday he deplored that two premier private mobile operators Airtel and Reliance have been making Hyderabad a city of potholes. But, his own party leaders are worrying that he hardy found any `loopholes’ in the state government to pin point as an opposition party leader.
participating in the discussion on city development, he expressed his main grouse against government’s failure in checking companies like Airtel and Reliance from indiscriminately digging city roads. Accusing GHMC officials failing speedy filling of potholes, he also found fault for deploying police when he was protesting against digging of roads without ensuring patch up works.
Last week, in his interview to a TV channel, he frankly admitted that his party is not prepared to take up any agitation against K Chandrasekhar Rao’s government as he didn’t find any issue against this governance.
After Chandrasekhar Rao moving closer to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following demonetisation move, BJP MLAs in the city cultivating ministerial ambitions. If KCR’s daughter K Kavitha joins Modi’s cabinet, they expect at least two of them also can join state cabinet here. In such a scenario, Kishan Reddy will be the first choice. Since then, Kishan Reddy restricting himself from making any `harsh’ comments against the government.
